Shell-less Snail?

Wednesday we found a pelagic nudibranch,  in a bunch of our tows. I'm sure most of you aren't familiar with nudibranchs, nevermind pelagic ones but they are some of the cooler marine animals you will ever see. A very simple explanation is that it is a snail without the shell. And this particular one is a more pelagic rather than benthic animal.

I had never seen a pelagic nudibranch before and it absolutely blew me away. The colors of blue that were covering it were mesmerizing. We were able to take a lot of pictures of one of them before letting it go. Very cool stuff!
