We finally have internet again!! We just moved to a new place just down the road from the old place and it took a while to get internet set up. And then when the guy came today he told us that none of the wires in the house were connected to anything and there was a possibilty that some of them were behind a newly made wall. Anyway, the guy was really cool and showed me how to wire up the internet myself so we didn't have to pay him anything. The only problem is that, while I was able to figure it out I still have to find a way to get it into the house without the wires coming through the window!
Either way we are back to the normal zombified routine of internet browsing. The new house is coming along great. We are still unpacking a bunch of stuff and trying to get settled and whatnot. This is my 3rd move in California in less than 2 years so I'm hoping I don't have to move again anytime soon.
Work is still going really well. I'm involved with the new cephalopod exhibit that will be coming up in 2014 and that reasearch/development is coming along great. We've got newly hatched baby big fin reef squid!!! They are just figuring out how to hunt and feed; it's pretty awesome. I've still got a Wunderpus that does not like attention very much and hides out during the day. I'm still trying to figure out a way to display him during the day without having to switch up his lighting patterns. We are also working with a couple different species of cuttlefish which are incredible animals as well.
The Celtics bummed me out last night and I'm still amazed they lost. I honestly believed they were going to win it all this year. I don't know the last time I had so much faith in one team; especially a team nobody thought would even make the playoffs. It was nauseating and heart-breaking to watch them lose to such a jackass like LeBron and D-Wade. And honestly this entire series just showed how corrupt this league really is. If Paul Pierce and Rondo weren't gonna be back next year I'd contemplate boycotting the NBA.
And usually we'd have the Sox to fall back on but they just keep digging themselves bigger holes one game after the next. Dice-K came back yesterday and even though his numbers weren't phenomenal he looked pretty good for not having pitched in the bigs for a year. Unfortunately the bats are very inconsistent and never seem to come through when the pitching is there. I'm NOT as much a believer in this team as I was the Celts. The Sox have a lot of work to do and if the rest of the division keeps playing this way they'll never get about .500.
So that's my latest update. Now that we have internet and are pretty much moved in I'll be back on more often. It was a hectic couple of weeks trying to pack, move, and get settled.
Pre-season Pats in 2 months, 10 days...
