Diver's Log

Went for my 4th recreational dive in 3 weeks this morning.  Dove at McAbee beach off Cannery Row in Monterey.  I didn't realize it was Friday the 13th until I signed the waiver for my tank so I wasn't sure how it was gonna go.  I was diving with a relatively new diver so it was somewhat frustrating but nothing out of control.  The wait visibility was maybe 5' and there wasn't much to see in the murky green water so it wasn't the greatest of dives, but at least it was something!

Temp: 53
Depth: 25-30
Time: 37 mins

Last Friday I went with a guy from work who also wasn't very experienced.  He hadn't dove in two years so was just getting used to his gear.  We dove at the Breakwater by the coast guard pier and visibility was about 10-15'.  One of the frustrations that goes with diving with inexperienced people is their increased oxygen consumption. Both this dive and the one this morning lasted ~35 minutes and even though my dive buddies both ended up with less than 500psi I came up with at least half a tank left.  It's tough to go through the effort of getting suited up for just 30mins.  But I love diving so it's not that bad.

Temp: 52
Depth: 35
Time: 35 mins

I'm glad to be getting the chance to dive so often.  I don't know if I have ever been able to dive on my own so much.  This is a great place to explore and I'm grateful for the opportunity!
